Young Black Men, The New Trend:
The reasoning behind these six words that I chose is because the recent racial crimes that happened in Pasedena and Florida. Two young teenagers being killed because they quote on quote look like thugs and gangsters who are up to no good. Assuming the young black men are automatically connect to crime. Not just this century,but a while back this happened also. It is sad how people play the race card and are incorrect about their assumptions. Any crime or bad situation that happens in the world, black men are the first to be the criminal.
This is a very interesting race card, but maybe it shouldn't be the "new trend". You could perhaps label it as "Age Old Trend", or "Same Old Scapegoat." It is very unfortunate that people associate deviant behavior with black people because some of the greatest people I have met are black. Hopefully we can reach a point were people are judged on the sum of their actions rather than their racial background.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Vanessa's post. It truly is sad how black men are one of the first to be labeled as a criminal. I believe that this statement also goes for Muslim men. How they are labelled as terrorists and "female-abusers".
