“We shall all be equal someday”
I chose these words because it is a hope to me that someday,
we could see each other as equals, not only in regards to race, but also with
gender and class. In discussion, it was interesting to me to hear such discord
in the class. Some people thought that we had achieved something close to
racial equality while others strongly disagreed. I think as of now we have not
achieved equality. Racial stereotypes still exist, and we believe many of these
stereotypes are true. I believe equality, if it is ever possible, can only come
with time and new generations who choose not to
believe in past stereotypes.
