The Vindication of Rights

“Intellect will always govern,” according to Mary Wollstonecraft. She point out the question: how can we know men or women are equal if women are not given equal education? However, in my opinion, how has intelligence got to do to rights or equality in genders? Even with the increase of education given to women nowadays, women still deem to be inferior to men. As the law of nature, females always yield for men while men pursues. Men think they have superior mind and strength than women. They see women as just women, or sexual beings, rather than equal human creatures like men. Women are raised to think they are inferior to men’s mind, intelligence, and body strength, so they think they must yield to and depend on them. Therefore, females are usually portrayed as sexualized in the advertisements or seen as mothers or housewives, rather the one that works. It seems to me the reason women are deemed as weaker gender lies in the biological body structural differences in male and female bodies. I agree with Mary Wollstonecraft’s point that women need strength in body and mind, rather than being soft, delicate, and susceptible.
