FRIENDS Psychoanalysis

The TV show FRIENDS has always made references to outside theories or humor. So I shouldn't have been surprised when it only took a few moments to find a Freudian example in the show. Chandler has a constant issue throughout the series with being mistaken as gay. He has no idea why, but he apparently gives the impression to most people he meets. Meanwhile, his father became a drag queen in vegas who is in fact gay. If we assume that Freud's theory is correct that we get our sexual identity from our parents, It is conceivable that although chandler is straight, he found his identity from a man who is gay and therefore struggles to maintain a strictly heterosexual appearance because of it.
