Psychoanalysis

I feel like I've pondered the unconcious part of the mind before I read Freud, so it's really interesting to read about it now. For instance, I agree that we identify with the attributes that our parents have, and we often look to find a partner with those same attributes. My girlfriend has many similarities to my mother, and she says that I have many of the traits she sees in her father, so thats classic Freudian theory. Our parents seem to dictate, or at least heavily influence our beliefs, values, and interests.
