Psychoanalysis

In thinking about what studying Freud has done to change my view of my daily habits or routines, I immediately thought of one of my favorite movies, Fight Club. The main character, Jack, has an alter ego, Tyler, who displays all the characteristics that Jack does not have. Thus, it brings to mind the dispute between the latent and the manifest. What Jack, who is consumed in what the society thinks of him, cannot do, Tyler can do. Although it is an extreme version of illustrating the phenomena of when atypical inclinations or preferences surface via other mediums, I definitely thought of Fight Club when first analyzing Freud's concept of psychoanalysis.
